Northwest Kicks Off Character Counts Spirit Week!

Northwest Elementary School began Character Counts Spirit Week with students wearing yellow to celebrate respect! Ms. Lee, our school social worker, visited first- and second-grade classrooms for an engaging lesson on fairness, friendship, and positive choices.
Students reviewed Northwest’s Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) expectations for the hallways, bathrooms, and bus and learned about our new attendance incentive. They also explored October’s character trait, fairness, and ways to treat others fairly.
Through a read-aloud of Llama Llama and the Bully Goat, students discussed preventing bullying, using kind words, and being a good friend. Students eagerly shared their ideas and enjoyed learning how their choices help make Northwest a safe and welcoming place for everyone!
