Northwest Elementary School students and staff came together to commemorate September 11 and honor the courage, service, and sacrifice of so many. Our students learned about Patriot Day and the important role of first responders, creating colorful and heartfelt pictures to show their appreciation. Their artwork was proudly displayed at Memorial Park on Broadway, Peter J. O’Neill Memorial Park on Bayview Avenue, and the Amityville Fire Department. We are proud of our Northwest students for participating in this meaningful remembrance and grateful to our dedicated staff for helping them understand the importance of honoring and remembering. A special thank you to Ms. Smith, who spearheads this wonderful tradition each year and continues to provide our students with a meaningful way to connect with and give back to their community.
