Students become imaginative inventors at Northwest Elementary School
First graders in Ms. Lisa Carey’s class at Northwest Elementary School in Amityville recently completed a unit which focused on using their own imagination.
During their “Imagine That” unit, students were exposed to fables, folktales, poems, art, music, and inventors. At the end of the unit, students were tasked with using their own imagination to create a structure. Houses, robots, animals and dinosaurs were just a few of the beautiful creations. The projects also included a written narrative to describe their creations.
